Testing tape on your actual carton surface
Test the tape on the same carton board used in production, including recycled board where applicable. Confirm width, roll length, core size, colour and printing artwork. Review storage and application conditions with the supplier. Inspect adhesion after representative handling and storage rather than only just after application. Keep an approved tape and carton combination.
Use representative cartons from your normal supply, including their usual printing or surface treatment. A clean test panel may not reflect a dusty warehouse carton. Describe the real application and storage conditions when requesting a suitable tape.
Check compatibility with the hand dispenser or sealing machine. Confirm core fit, roll clearance and the way tape is cut and pressed onto the carton. Uneven application can make a suitable tape appear inconsistent in use.
For printed tape, approve the wording, orientation and appearance on a sealed carton before ordering. Keep the artwork reference separate from the adhesive and roll specification. An artwork approval alone does not confirm the tape’s performance on your carton.
Confirm your specification
Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.
