Using coloured stretch film for warehouse identification

Coloured stretch film can make product groups or shipping destinations easier to recognise. Assign colours through a documented warehouse rule and keep a written label as the definitive identifier. Opacity depends on the actual film and number of layers; a colour description does not guarantee concealment or light protection. Confirm any such requirement by examining a wrapped sample.

A practical colour rule might separate customer orders, dispatch routes or work areas. Keep the rule simple enough for everyone using the warehouse to understand. Display the written mapping where goods are packed and checked for shipment.

Treat colour as an aid to recognition rather than a complete tracking system. The load still needs its product, batch or order reference. Staff should be able to identify the goods even if a wrap is damaged or removed.

Confirm whether the goods need to remain visible through the film. A wrapped sample shows how colour, overlap and the underlying cartons interact. If concealment is required, describe that requirement separately and agree an acceptance method.

Confirm your specification

Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.

Product details are based on the GUDE catalogue and supplied photographs; operating guidance is general and must be verified on your equipment.
