Sizing a pallet top sheet around the load
Measure the top of the finished load rather than only the pallet footprint. Consider the overhang needed to meet the side wrapping and how the sheet is applied. Confirm film width, thickness, cut length or roll arrangement and the covering process. Trial the sheet on the actual load and inspect the corners and uncovered gaps.
Measure the load after it has been stacked in its normal arrangement. Carton overhang, an uneven top or projecting components can alter the cover needed. Record these features with a photograph rather than relying only on the empty pallet size.
Decide whether sheets will be cut and placed manually or applied through equipment. Confirm the supply format, roll handling and cutting arrangement. Operators need a repeatable way to produce the agreed coverage without leaving avoidable loose edges.
Inspect a trial cover after the pallet has moved through the normal dispatch route. Look for displaced corners, open gaps and areas stretched over sharp projections. Agree the accepted sheet dimensions and application sequence together in the packing instruction.
Confirm your specification
Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.
Product details are based on the GUDE catalogue and supplied photographs; operating guidance is general and must be verified on your equipment.
