Repairing punctures and reviewing bale storage

Inspect bales for punctures after moving them and during storage. Follow the film supplier and silage process guidance for suitable repairs; do not use an unverified repair material. Identify sharp ground surfaces, equipment contact or animal damage that may recur. A visibly intact patch does not establish preservation success, so review the overall handling and storage process.

Mark the location of a puncture before arranging the approved repair. Note whether it is associated with the bale contents, handling equipment, ground contact or later storage damage. A repeated pattern points to a process issue needing correction.

Use the repair material and method specified for the supplied film and agricultural process. Check the surrounding wrap for further damage rather than treating only the visible hole. Ask the responsible specialist to assess any concern about the bale’s condition.

Review the storage area and movement route after a recurring fault. Remove avoidable sharp contact points and check how equipment grips or supports the bale. Record the correction and follow up on subsequent bales to confirm that the damage stops recurring.

Confirm your specification

Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.

Product details are based on the GUDE catalogue and supplied photographs; operating guidance is general and must be verified on your equipment.
