Sizing an inflatable protective pack
Provide product dimensions, weight, fragile areas and carton size. Confirm the protective format, film grade and inflation arrangement with the supplier. Check insertion clearance and coverage around vulnerable surfaces. Ask which inflation equipment and operating conditions apply to the supplied format; do not assume every inflatable pack uses the same pressure.
Include accessories and any internal separators when describing the goods to be protected. Identify surfaces that must not be pressed or scratched. A sample of the complete item is more useful than its main dimensions when projections complicate the fit.
Check the proposed protective format after inflation and placement in the carton. Confirm that it covers the intended areas and allows the box to close without forcing the contents. Review how the product will be inserted and removed by operators.
Agree a representative assessment of the assembled pack with the responsible packaging team. Record movement, visible damage and the condition of the cushioning after the intended handling sequence. Keep the accepted carton, protective format and inflation method together as one specification.
Confirm your specification
Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.
