Choosing the right PE stretch film roll

Confirm whether the roll will be used by hand or on a machine. Measure the usable roll width, core size and roll clearance; then discuss thickness, length or net film weight. Consider pointed corners and the intended storage environment. Ask for a trial sample rather than assuming that all rolls with the same appearance have the same stretch and puncture behaviour.

Describe the goods as well as the machine. Light but easily crushed cartons require a different review from rigid cartons with projecting edges. Note mixed-size layers, gaps in the stack and any labels that must be scanned.

Check how rolls are specified in the quotation. Width, thickness, usable length, net film weight and core details should use an agreed basis. Keep these details with the approved sample so replacement orders can be compared consistently.

Assess the wrapped pallet after its normal warehouse movements. Watch for slipping layers, stretched openings or damaged cartons. Approve the combination of film and wrapping method; a sample that looks clear and even on the roll is not sufficient.

Confirm your specification

Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.

Product details are based on the GUDE catalogue and supplied photographs; operating guidance is general and must be verified on your equipment.
