Loose packs and heat damage in shrink packaging

A loose pack may result from film clearance, inadequate shrinking or an unstable product arrangement. Heat damage points to an unsuitable exposure or a heat-sensitive product. Inspect the contents as well as the outer film. Review the complete process with the equipment and film suppliers and retain an example of each defect.

Identify whether looseness affects the whole pack or only a particular area. Review the group arrangement and film clearance before adjusting the shrinking stage. An unsupported space between products may need a different packing arrangement rather than more heat.

If contents show heat-related changes, stop the trial and review their suitability with the responsible product and equipment teams. Do not continue raising settings to improve the outside appearance. Keep an affected sample and a record of the exposure conditions.

For recurring defects, compare preparation, sealing and shrinking samples from the same run. This helps locate the stage where the problem starts. Approve a correction only after checking the contents and the integrity of the complete pack under normal handling.

Confirm your specification

Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.

Product details are based on the GUDE catalogue and supplied photographs; operating guidance is general and must be verified on your equipment.
