Planning a shrink-pack trial for grouped products
Prepare a consistent product group and check that the pack can be handled safely. Follow the film and equipment guidance for sealing, airflow and heat exposure. Adjust one variable at a time and record both appearance and pack stability. Inspect goods for heat-related damage and repeat representative handling before approving the process.
Keep the contents, tray and product orientation consistent across the trial. Label samples so a finished pack can be traced to its film and settings. Differences in grouping should be recorded rather than mistaken for a film or equipment effect.
Inspect the formed and sealed pack before assessing the shrinking stage. Look for trapped material, inadequate clearance or a sharp point pressing against the film. Correct those preparation problems using the approved method before reviewing heat settings.
After the trial, check several complete packs through the intended transfer and storage sequence. Look for shifting contents, opened seals or damage hidden beneath the film. Document the acceptable result with photographs and the settings authorised for that product.
Confirm your specification
Specify width, thickness, roll length or net material weight, core size, colour, packing, quantity and destination. Final dimensions and performance are confirmed by the sample and order.
Product details are based on the GUDE catalogue and supplied photographs; operating guidance is general and must be verified on your equipment.
