Wrapping profiles without trapping damage
Inspect goods for dirt or existing damage before wrapping, and add edge protection where needed. Bundle profiles on suitable supports, apply controlled tension and preserve necessary handling labels. Confirm that the pack can be lifted and opened safely. Check the surface after representative storage and removal, particularly where products have coatings or decorative finishes.
Arrange profiles so their weight is supported and finished faces do not rub against each other. Use the agreed spacers or protective layers where needed. Film should secure the arrangement, while suitable supports carry the load during handling.
Apply the wrap without dragging it over an exposed sharp end. Keep product identification and approved lifting locations accessible. Where another restraint is used, check that it does not cut through the protective film or damage the goods.
Inspect the first completed bundle and a sample after normal storage and unpacking. Record scuffing, trapped debris or unwanted surface changes. If the surface finish or bundle design changes, check the method again before continuing routine packing.
